A highly educated financial and business expert, Mora Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Officer Ivan Comerma has a longstanding tradition as a trusted industry thought leader.

Currently MoraBanc’s head of investment banking and formerly the head of capital markets, Mr. Comerma boasts an extensive and accomplished career. He previously worked with CAIXA CATALUNYA, a Catalan savings bank with headquarters in Barcelona, Catalonia. There, he served as a stocks and derivatives trader and fixed income trader, before advancing to head of fixed income.

The consummate academic, while completing his undergraduate degree in business administration at the University of Barcelona, Mr. Comerma moved to the U.S. for several semesters and completed a business administration program at UC Berkeley and studied political science, capital markets and investments at Harvard University. He graduated in 1997 and, that same year, he also completed the Options and Futures Certificate Program at Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Advanced Options Strategies at DePaul University. The following year, in 1998, Mr. Comerma completed the Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA) and European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS) certifications.

Mr. Comerma’s career began in technical analysis at the New York Institute of Finance. He later moved to London, where he completed the fixed-income seminar at Salomon Smith Barney and later Principles of Securitization at Fitch Ratings. He then returned to his native Barcelona, where he specialized in bank assets and liabilities management with Intermoney.

His early experiences began as fund manager at Fibanc. It was after this that he joined CAIXA CATALUNYA and eventually the team of MoraBanc. Constantly attuned with the intricacies of the constantly changing global financial market, Mr. Comerma has been recently cited for his expertise in various credible media outlets, including Bloomberg and RTVE television.

However, his interests and dedication reach far beyond his industry. Mr. Comerma served as head of a humanitarian project in Nepal, which was sponsored by AGBAR, a Spanish company dedicated to the distribution and treatment of water. Mr. Comerma is also heavily involved with AIESEC, a global youth organization that develops leadership capabilities through internal leadership programs and by engaging students and graduates in international student exchange and internship programs for profit and non-profit organizations. Mr. Comerma was president and founder of the AIESEC branch at La Universitat Abat Oliba CEU in Barcelona.
